moving off campus!

So I was sitting in my living room last night, doing some reading for one of my music education courses, when all of a sudden a group of my friends burst into the room out of nowhere with a huge bag of animal crackers (a personal favorite of mine), soda, and other fun snacks because they decided it would be fun to take over our living room. This doesn’t happen all the time in our room, so this was certainly a special occasion. The homework got put off until later of course, and we ended up hanging out, listening to music, watching TLC and the Discovery Channel (personal favorites when you come to our apartment), and talking about our classes. Eventually the issue of our housing situations got brought up. Until last night, I had no definite place where I was going to live next year. One of my current roommates, Jared, and I were going to find a two bedroom apartment together, but in the midst the homework-interrupting get-together last night, we found more people to live with! and not just random people, but good friends of ours that I am really looking forward to living with. So unless the plan changes, this is where a group of five of us will be living next year (green arrow marks the spot)…..

As you can see, I am practically still on campus. In fact, I will be closer to the music building next year than I am this year with my on campus apartment. If you prefer the satellite view, then check out the image below. (look for the green arrow again) The images are from Google maps of course. If you haven’t experienced the wonderful world of Google maps, you should.

For the past 6 months, I have had my heart set on living in center city, but after thinking about it for 30 seconds, I realized that I don’t want commute to campus. That would mean waking up earlier for classes. Also, as you can see in the image above, we are right next to the turf fields, the tennis courts, the outdoor track, and the indoor basketball courts. Annnnnd, the dining hall will be less than a block away from us! Its a win-win-win-win-win-win situation for me and my future house mates.
